The Bombers returned to Rollhouse Lanes for the OHSAA Sectional Playoffs. The Sectionals are divided into three locations; Rollhouse and Crossgate locations will send their top 7 each to the District Level and Poelking Woodman will send its top 10. Last year the Bombers finished 3rd at Rollhouse. The Bombers' last Sectional Title was in the 2020-2021 season.
In game one, Brady Johnson and Joseph Ritter gave the Bombers a 199 and 192. Brogan James put up a 179 and Joseph Geers added a 175 as the Bombers threw a 903 after one to sit fifth. Fairfield High School led the way with a 984 and Edgewood sat in 7th with a 859.
Joseph Geers struggled to start game two but quickly found his line rattling off the back half for strikes and a 245 for the Bombers. Bradley Giuffre came off the Bench to put up a 200 for the Bombers while Brady Johnson added a 175. Joseph Ritter and Broken James rolled scores of 175 and 165 to push the Bombers to 947. The Bombers were the third highest in game two behind Anderson's 1014 and Walnut Hills with a 964. After two, the Anderson Raptors sat in first at 1953, the Bombers in fifth with 1851, and Archbishop McNicholas at the cut-line sitting 1728.
In game three, the Bombers put up another 947 with Bradley Giuffre and Joseph Ritter adding .striking power for games of 236 and 211. Ritter ends his day with a 565 series. Joseph Geers put up a 187 for a 607 series and Brady Johnson ended his 543 series with a 169 game. The Bombers threw the fourth best game 3 score. The Bombers went to bakers sitting in fourth at 2798. Anderson led the field going to bakers with a 3046 and McNicholas at the cutline of 2675.
In bakers, the Bombers worked hard to overcome the burned-out pattern but struggled. After three games of 187, 133, and 156 the Bombers fell to fifth at 3337. Anderson pushed their lead out to 3656 and Edgewood and McNicholas hovered at the cut line with 3150 and 3149. With a final three games of 159, 141, and 164 the Bombers ended backers with a 940, the 7th lowest of the day. With a total of 3738, the Bombers were able to hold onto 6th place.
Anderson (4216), Fairfield (4073), Oak Hills (3932), Mason (3868), Lakota East (3824), St. Xavier (3738), and Archbishop McNicholas (3724) will move on to Districts at Beaver-Vu Bowl. They will meet up with the 7 from Crossgate, Middletown, Lebanon, Elder, Western Brown, West Clermont, La Salle, and Milford, and the 10 from Poelking Woodman. The Dayton Sectional will roll on Thursday.
Bomber Strength:
Since the 2003-2004 season, the Bombers have moved on to Districts as a team in 19 of the 22 seasons. The Bombers have now made it to districts 6 years in a row and 10 of the last 11 as a team. The Bombers have sent at least one individual or team to Districts for 15 years in a row (individual qualifiers in the 2018-2019 and 2014-2015 seasons).
Record Performances
The Bombers 3737 today is the 14th best performance at Sectionals. The best they have ever scored was a 4475 when they placed 3rd in the 2017-2018 season. Joseph Geer's 607 is 122nd on the all-time list of Bombers throwing a 600 or better.

The Bombers will continue to Beaver-Vu Bowl on Thursday February 27th.
Around the GCL:
Elder finished 3rd and La Salle finished 6th at the Crossgate Sectionals and will be joining the Bombers at Districts. Moeller's season ends with a 10th place finish.
