The Bowling Bombers wrapped up individual GCL play with a head-to-head match up with the La Salle Lancers on Wednesday the 28th. The Bombers and the Lancers have met up 90 times dating back to the 2001/2002 season, tied for most with Elder and Moeller. The Lancers lead the match-up 23 to 66 going into Wednesday.
The Bombers struggled early in game one while La Salle came out striking early. A few ball changes and lane changes got the Bombers lined up but just not enough. Mason Carota and Joseph Geers led the Bombers with a pair of 214s and Jack Kaiser struck on the lanes for a 211. Bradley Giuffre and Luke Stigall added a 183 and a 181 to help the Bombers finish strong on their way to a 1003. However, the Lancers' anchored by a 235 and all five scores at 194 or higher would roll a 1060 and keep a 57 pin lead.
In game two, both teams found the groove with X averaging 209.6 and La Salle averaging 215.6 per bowler in game two. Jack Kaiser was high man on the team rolling a 244 on his way to a 455 series. Luke Stigall punched in a 406 series with a 225 game two. Bradley Giuffre and Ian McConnell shot a combined 205. Joseph Geers (403 series) and Mason Carota (399 series) clocked 189 and 185 for the Bombers. The Lancers pushed their lead with games of 263, 219, 217, 194, and 185. After two, the Bombers trails 2138 to 2051.
Facing an 87 pin deficit, the Bombers shot 8 strikes in game 1 to roll a 245 to the Lancers 173 to erase 72 pins. In game two, the Bombers closed 9 of 10 frames plus fill ball to roll a 227 to jump the Lancers who shot a 170. After 2, the Bombers led 2523 to 2481. The Bombers missed two makeable spares in game three to have their lead cut by 24 with a score of 207 to 183. With an 18 pin lead the Bombers started off strong closing the first 7 frames with 5 strikes and 2 spares. The Bombers opened the 8th and the 9th and the Lancers capitalized on it rolling a 206 before Joseph Geers closed the door with a double in the 10th and Nolan Namaky striking on the fill ball for a 212.
The Bombers win 2918 to 2894 and move to 5 and 4 in the GCL while La Salle falls to 4 and 5.

The Bombers inked themselves in to the record books on Wednesday. The Bombers 2918 is the 15th best team score in school history with their 867 tonight also being the 15th best baker series. The 245 shot in game one ranks 59th and the 1048 game two is the 103rd best team game in school history. Jack Kaiser's 455 is the 140th best individual game in school history.

The Bombers kick the last month of the season off with the East vs West tournament on the 1st, Senior Night against Lakota West on the 3rd, an away match to Lebanon on the 4th, and the final GCL Match of the year with the Quad at Western Bowl on the 6th. They then hit the final week of the year with Walnut Hills on the 9th and the Tiger End of Season tournament in Columbus on the 14th.
