During the inaugural OHSAA lacrosse postseason in 2017, the Moeller Crusaders beat the St. Xavier Bombers in the Division I, Region 4 final before claiming the Division I state championship. The Bombers haven't dropped a regional game since.

The Bombers (19-3) led Mason (17-5) 12-5 early in the first half before the Comets scored seven-straight goals to tie the game at 12-12 with 1:57 left in the game. With the clock ticking and a potential overtime on the horizon, St. Xavier gave the ball to All-American Khalif Hocker.

With 1:18 left on the clock, Hocker spun left and fired, scoring the regional-winning goal. Score: 13-12.

St. Xavier will be in its six-straight state tournament, looking for its first state championship since 2018.

The Bombers drew Region 3 champion Upper Arlington in the state semifinal with the meeting scheduled for Wednesday, June 5, at Wittenberg University.

The Bombers met Upper Arlington in the second game of the season, falling to the Golden Bears 11-10 on March 17.
