Lacrosse Completes Season Sweep of Michigan Schools

After taking down Brother Rice 9-7 on Saturday April 13th in a tightly contested game at the University of Michigan Lacrosse Stadium, Bomber Lacrosse welcomed a pair of Michigan high schools to campus this past weekend in Detroit Central Catholic and Hartland High School.

Friday night, lacrosse took down Detroit Central Catholic 12-11 in a match up of two talented teams. Johnnie Guttman (4 goals) and Daniel Vollmer (3 goals) led the Bomber offensive attack while Khalif Hocker added 2 goals and 2 assists. Trent Yelton secured 13 saves and Magnus Violet won 16 of 20 face offs.

Off a quick turnaround on Saturday, the Bombers welcomed Hartland High School to campus and sent them home after winning 19-8. Guttamn (3 goals; 4 assists), Nate Sprong (3 goals), and Brady Bennett (3 goals) paced the Bombers. Trent Yelton took in another 3 saves while Violet went a perfect 14 for 14 on face offs.

Winners of 12 consecutive games, Lacrosse sits at 12-2 on the year as they head into the final stretch of regular season play. They travel to the Bluegrass State to take on Louisville St. Xavier on Wednesday, May 1st. They're on the road for two more (5/6 at Mason and 5/8 at Jerome) before returning home for their final regular season contest against Olentangy Liberty on Saturday, May 11th.
