Lacrosse Wins 7th Straight in Victory Up North

After dropping their first two matches of the season, Bomber Lacrosse just rattled off their 7th consecutive victory after a trip to Michigan to face off against Brother Rice High School.

The Bombers met Brother Rice at the University of Michigan Lacrosse Stadium on Saturday afternoon in a battle of two of the region's premiere programs. The Bombers left victorious with a 9-7 victory.

Brother Rice got out to a hot start, taking a 2-0 lead after the first quarter and then a 3-2 lead into intermission.

St. Xavier got off to a quick start to open the second half, scoring three goals in the first six minutes to take a 5-4 lead. Spencer Stegbauer opened the scoring with 8:11 left in the quarter, Khalif Hocker scored a mere seven seconds later, and then again at the 6:00 mark. The third quarter barrage didn't stop as the Bombers proceeded to score three more goals - Alex Sharma, Johnny Guttman, and Brady Bennett - to take an 8-4 lead heading into the final quarter.

Brother Rice pulled within one at 8-7 but Hocker closed the door with a goal at 2:17 left in the game to bring the scoring to conclusion at 9-7 in favor of the Bombers.

Lacrosse sits at 7-2 on the season so far as they continue their tough schedule. The Bombers travel to Indiana to take on Carmel High School on April 16th before heading home to welcome Montgomery Bell Academy (TN) on Saturday for their senior night celebration at RDI Stadium.
