Lacrosse Downs Wheaton Academy

Bomber Lacrosse doesn't shy away from competition and last Friday's matchup with Wheaton Academy out of Illinois was an early indicator of that. Wheaton came to RDI Stadium as the reigning 2023 Illinois State Champions and left with a 16-9 defeat at the hands of St. Xavier Lacrosse.

Lacrosse got off to a quick start that led to a 4-3 lead midway through the second quarter, including goals from Khalif Hocker and Luke Sprong. Both teams would score twice more and the Bombers took a 6-5 lead into intermission.

The Bombers raced out of half time to take an 11-7 lead at the end of the third period and they didn't look back as they ultimately played to a 16-9 victory over the visitors.

The victory improves their record to an even 2-2 on the young season. After a short break over Easter, the Bombers have a busy stretch of four games in seven days beginning with a trip to Indianapolis to take on Cathredral High School on April 3rd and ending with their annual regular season showdown with the Moeller Crusaders on April 10th at Moeller.
