Tri-Match vs. Beavercreek & Versailles:

The Bombers put up a tough effort at their tri-match vs. Beavercreek and Versailles. Here are the final results:

Wadsworth Grizzly Invitational:
Sophomore Kane Shawger also participated in the Wadsworth Grizzly Invitational.

Shawger had an impressive day, going 4-0 to clinch the 144lb championship. Ranked 2nd in the state at 138lb, Shawger defeated two top-10 ranked wrestlers on his path to victory. He started strong with a tech fall win (17-0) in his first match, followed by a first-period pin against Alex Mickens (Columbus DeSales). In the semi-finals, Shawger continued his dominance with another first-period pin over Aiden Milam (Olentangy Liberty), advancing to the finals.

In the finals match, Shawger faced senior state placer Jack Dinwiddie from Wadsworth High School. After a scoreless first period, Shawger scored three points in the second period with a takedown, allowing only an escape to lead 3-1 going into the third. Choosing the bottom position, Shawger quickly was stood up to make it 4-1. Despite a stall call, he secured a takedown to extend his lead to 7-1 with under a minute left. Another stall warning made it 7-2, but Shawger maintained top control. He then cut Dinwiddie to make it 7-3, which remained the final score. The St. Xavier sophomore secured the title and improved his season record to 19-2. This is Shawger's second title (CIT) in two weeks since returning from injury.

Up Next:
The Bombers will be back in action this weekend at the State Dual Tournament at Springboro High school, as they face Colerain at 9:00 AM. If they win, they will face #1 seed Springboro and a loss will put them against the loser of the Harrison vs. Butler match at 10:30 AM.
