Bomber Golf Widens Lead After 2nd GCL Quad
St. Xavier hosted the 2nd 18 hole leg of the 72 aggregate GCL Championship at Hyde Park Country Club yesterday. With beautiful weather and a course in excellent shape, St. Xavier played stellar golf led by senior captain Michael Stagnaro who fired a blazing 4 under par 67 to earn medalist honors of the 24 golfers. Sophomore Patrick Paquette added an even par 71, sophomore Eli Moore and senior captain Tanner Berry shot 75 to round out the four counting scores. Senior captain George Baker had a 76 and junior Owen Sedgwick shot 79.
St. Xavier's total of 288 was 14 shots better than Elder, and as a result at the halfway point, St. Xavier has a 21 stroke lead at 583 total strokes. Elder is at 604 strokes. Moeller fired 318 for a two round total of 622 and LaSalle had 320 for a two round total of 645.
Individually at the halfway point, Elder's Cayse Morgan rounds of 68-69 holds a 1 shot lead over St. Xavier's Michael Stagnaro who has had rounds of 71-67.
Action resumes on Sunday September 15th and concludes on Sunday September 22nd at Pipestone Golf Club in Miamisburg.
