Golf Holds Solid Lead After 3rd GCL Quad
The third 18-hole round of GCL Golf action occurred this Saturday at Pipestone Golf Club which will be the SWOH District site. Elder had a blazing day under windy, sunny, and hot conditions on the very dry, hard golf course. They shot 296 led by back-to-back two-time GCL Player of the Year senior Cayse Morgan who shot 4 under par 68. The Bombers struggled but came in 2nd with a 304, Moeller 317, and LaSalle 326.
The Bombers counting scores included senior captain Michael Stagnaro 75, sophomore Eli Moore 76, senior Ben Zieker 76, and senior Captain George Baker 77.
St. Xavier still holds a 13-shot lead over Elder with the final 18-hole round to be played next Sunday, September 22nd back at Pipestone Golf Club.
The standing totals are St. Xavier 887, Elder 900, Moeller 939, and LaSalle 971.
The Bombers have a busy week and weekend coming up with SWOH Sectionals this Wednesday (9/18) at Miami Whitewater where the low 4 of 15 teams advance and four varsity tournaments this Saturday before returning to Pipestone.Â
