Golf Finishes 3rd in State Tournament

The St. Xavier Bomber Golfers closed out a very successful season with a 3^rd place finish at the OHSAA Division 1 State Championship at NCR Country Club South Course in Kettering, OH. The weather was brutally cold, windy, and some rain on an extremely difficult par 70 course playing at 6800+ yards with severely sloped and fast greens.

The Bombers shot 302-318 for a 620 total led by senior captain Michael Stagnaro 68-77 and he finished T3 individually. He is the first St. Xavier golfer to earn 1^st Team All-State Honors since Cameron Frazier back in 2016.

Junior Owen Sedgwick posted two solid rounds of 79-79, sophomore Eli Moore 80-80, sophomore Patrick Paquette 75-86, and senior Captain George Baker 83-82. All five golfers had at least 1 of their rounds used as a counting top 4 score for the daily team totals.

Archbishop Hoban won the Championship with a final score of 595 and Olentangy Liberty finished runner up at 612. The Bombers edged out 4^th place Dublin Jerome 622.
Overall, the Varsity Golfers won the GCL for the 10^th year in a row, Sectionals for the 6^th year in a row, and Districts for the first time since 2020 en route to the 3^rd place State Finish.
