Hockey Takes 3rd in Mark Rasmus Invitational, Gears Up for Heritage Bank Arena Game

Bomber Hockey traveled to Toledo this weekend for the annual Mark Rasmus Invitational, hosted by St. John's Jesuit. After dropping their first contest Friday night, the Bombers rebounded to finish 3-1 on the weekend which was good for a 3rd place finish in the tournament.

A long trip to Toledo proved to serve the Bombers poorly as bad weather and car legs are no way to play a hockey game and they fell to Sylvania Northview 4-1 Friday night.

The Bombers bounced back with a pair of wins Saturday morning including a 3-2 victory over the host school, St. John Jesuit, and an emphatic 8-1 victory over Anthony Wayne High School Saturday night.

Sunday morning brought a rematch with Northview in the 3rd place contest. A back and forth battle saw the Bombers turn the tables, winning 6-4. Senior Captain Christopher Heekin led the way with 5 gritty goals.

JV also competed in Toledo this weekend, going 1-1-2 on the weekend.

The Hockey program will play their annual contest at the Heritage Bank Arena on Saturday, January 20th. JV will kick things off at 4:00 pm against the NKY Norsemen. Varsity follows at 6:00 pm with a big matchup against the Moeller Crusaders. Admission to all of the games are FREE to everyone.
