Volleyball Downs Moeller in Straight Sets

After going 3-0 in a trio of matches to begin the season, St. Xavier saw their first major test come early in the season when they welcomed the Moeller Crusaders to the Berning Gymnasium on Tuesday night.

Moeller entered the contest toting a 5-0 record and the number one ranking in the state but left with their first loss of the season, losing three sets to zero to the Bombers in the process. The Freshman and JV squads also downed the Crusaders in straight sets, giving the Bombers a clean sweep as a program.

The Bombers controlled the match from start to finish, winning the sets 25-21, 25-23, and 25-21 as they improve to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in GCL play. They stay home for their next match when they welcome La Salle to the Berning Gym for another GCL contest. Game times are set for 5:00/6:00/7:00 and tickets can be purchased here!
