Bomber Hockey Takes 2 of 3 Over the Weekend

Bomber Hockey Takes 2 of 3 Over the Weekend

Bomber Hockey won two of three contests this past weekend, including a split in a pair of Capital Hockey Conference games.

The Bombers took on the Northern Kentucky Norsemen on Friday night, winning 3-0 thanks to a shutout by goaltender Simon Kelley. They took down the Norsemen for the 3rd time this season, completing a sweep on the season.

Saturday night, Coach Bob Bove's squad welcomed Bishop Watterson to Sports Plus in Cincinnati for the first leg of their two-game conference schedule. Lead by a two-goal, two-assist night from Matthew Langenderfer, the Bombers sent Bishop Watterson home with a 9-1 loss.

The Bombers traveled to Columbus on Sunday to cap off the weekend at the OhioHealth IceHaus against St. Charles Prep. After a scoreless first period, the Bombers got on the Board first with a Ryan Gick power play goal in the second period. After tying the contest later in the period, St. Charles would go on to score three more unanswered goals to take a 4-1 win.

The two wins improve their record to 10-4-1 on the season with a 2-2-0 record in CHL conference play. The Bombers have another busy weekend coming up with three more games in three days - all CHL matches. They travel to Columbus to take on Upper Arlington on December 9th, head home to Cincinnati to face off against Dublin Coffman on the 10th, and then right back to Columbus on the 11th to face off against Olentangy High School. Upper Arlington currently sits atop the standings of the CHL Red Division, while the Bombers sit in a tie with Coffman for first place in the CHL White Division.
