Bob Bove has been named Head Ice Hockey Coach at St. Xavier Athletic Director
Brian Reinhart announced on Monday, August 10.
Bove owns an Independent Financial Services company in Anderson Township.
"We are excited to have Coach Bove lead our Hockey program," said Reinhart. "His success and dedication on and off the ice are a testament to his character and work ethic. We look forward to having him mold our student athletes into men for others and to strive for the magis in all they do."
"It is with great excitement and humility that I accept the position of Head Ice Hockey Coach at St. Xavier High School," said Bove. "I look forward to continuing the tradition of academic and athletic excellence that St Xavier has demonstrated throughout the years."
Bove played Ice Hockey and Football for East Leyden High School. Athletics brought him to the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area in 1983. He was the first full-time Certified Athletic Trainer at Northern Kentucky University and stayed in that position until June of 1998. He has coached youth sports for 27 years including 13 years as the Head Coach for the Northern Kentucky Norse Youth Ice Hockey Association. Coach Bove has a Level 4 USA Hockey Coaching Certificate and held a Level 3 USA Hockey Referee Certificate for seven years. He has coached multiple championship teams including the Commonwealth of Kentucky State Championship, Buckeye Travel League Midget AA Championship, and the Cincinnati City High School League Championship, multiple times.
His wife Sue and family, (three adult children and eight grandchildren) have supported his passion for athletics and the game of Ice Hockey and are excited to become part of the St. Xavier family.
