The Bowling Bombers traveled to Northwest Lanes on Wednesday December 17th to take on the GCL-South in the first quad of the season.  The Bombers looked to make a splash in the GCL with a good showing Wednesday night.  

In game one, the pattern got the better of the Bombers as they closed frames but couldn't find a consistent strike shot.  Jack Kaiser paced St. X with a 200 (353 series) and Luke Stigall put up a 191 as they finished with an 890.  Elder led the pack with a 1132 and a quad high game of 268 from Jordan Rottinghouse.  La Salle put up a 1077 with Jace Amann rolling a 255.  Moeller rolled a 790 in game 1.  

The Bombers looked to make up ground in game two but could not find a consistent strike shot as they continued to close frames but lose ground on the leaders.  Joseph Geers ended his 380 series with a 213 while Luke Stigall was high man for the Bombers with a 383 series and a 192 game.  Mason Carota put up a 195 for a 378 series and Ian McConnell rolled a 190.  The Bombers 943 in game two and a total of 1833 placed them third.  Elder shot another 1100 with Jayden Brown putting up a 279 for the Panthers.  The Lancers rolled a 969 with Jace Amann leading them with a 224.  Going to bakers the Panthers led 2247 to the Lancers 2046, followed by the Bombers at 1833, and Moeller at 1647.

In bakers, the Bombers closed 85% of their frames but was unable to make up ground on the leaders.  The Bombers rolled games of 164, 165, 201, and 168 for a 698 series.  

Elder wins the quad with a 2972 followed by the Lancers at 2775, the Bombers at 2531, and Moeller at 2349.  The Bombers fall to 2 and 3 on the season and 2 and 3 in the GCL.  

Bomber Strength:

The Bombers have all 6 varsity bowlers with a 70% or better clean frame rate.  Joseph Geers leads with an 86.5%.

Record Performances

The Bombers produced their 189th GCL win in school history by beating the Moeller Crusaders.

Upcoming Schedule:

A schedule change for December has the Bombers on the road versus Oak Hills at Western Bowl on the 19th and wrapping up the first half of the season with the Holiday Classic on Saturday morning.  

Around the GCL:

Moeller is off till January 8th when they host the Elder Panthers.  La Salle is off till they return for the Back to School Bash on January 4th.  Elder plays host for the Holiday Classic on Saturday.    
Elder has a 2 game lead in the GCL sitting 5-0 followed by La Salle at 3 and 2, the Bombers at 2 - 3, and Moeller at 0 - 5.
