Bowling Bombers Finish 7th at King's Classic

On Monday, January 20th, the Bombers returned to Bellefontaine, Ohio to roll in the King's Classic hosted by Bellefontaine High School.  The Bombers only other trip to T-P Lanes was in December of 2019 when they finished 10th at the Holiday Classic hosted there.  This tournament would be 3 individual games and 6 bakers for a total pin-fall winner. 

 

The Bombers opened game one with big games for a 1031 set.  Joseph Geers and Bradley Giuffre threw games of 234 and 209.  Jack Kaiser, Luke Stigall, and Brady Johnson put up games of 199, 198, and 191.  The Bombers sat in 3rd with Ben Logan pacing the field at 1084.  

 

Joseph Geers found his mark in game two with a team high of 265 for the Bombers.  Brady Johnson added a 197 with Jack Kaiser and Luke Stigall putting in games of 180 and 175.  The Bombers shot a team total of 984 but fell to fourth.  

 

In game 3, Brady Johnson took his turn to lead the Bombers posting a 255 for a 643 series.  Joseph Geers was high man on the pair with a 660 series following his 161 game.  Luke Stigall shot a 202 for his 575 and Jack Kaiser finished his set with a 171 for a 550.  Joseph Ritter came in game 3 for a 174 game.  The Bombers posted a 963 for a 2978 first half and a 5th place position.  

 

In bakers, the Bombers struggled with consistency with games of 154, 191, 166, 181, 186, and a 159 for a 1037 series.  The Bombers would go on to finish 7th in the tournament.  Joseph Geers finished as a member of the All-Tournament Team.  

 

Bomber Strength:

Joseph Geers' 660 is a career high 3 game series for the junior.  Brady Johnson set career highs with his 255 game and 643 series.  Jack Kaiser's 199 was the sophomore's highest game to date.  

 

Record Performances

Joseph Geers' 660 series places him as the 36th best 3-game series in school history and Brady Johnson's 643 sits 49th.  Joseph Geers' 265 is the 65th best individual game for a Bomber and Brady Johnson's 255 is 123.   Brady Johnson has knocked down a career total of 13,512 pins as he passes 2024 graduate Aaron Bickford for 29th all-time in school history.

Upcoming Schedule:

The Bombers face off against GCL rival Moeller on the 23rd and then have a weekend of travel.  The Bombers will roll in the East vs West Tournament at Western Bowl on the 25th before traveling north to Parma, Ohio to roll in the St. Iganatious Baker Tournament.  The Bombers finish January with a GCL match against La Salle ont eh 29th and senior night on the 31st.  

 

Around the GCL:

Elder continues to sit atop the GCL at 6-0, followed by La Salle at 4-2, the Bombers in third at 2-4, and Moeller at 0-6.
