Bowling Bombers Finish Third in GCL Quad





The Bowling Bombers returned to Western Bowl on Tuesday for the first GCL Quad of the season.  The Bombers entered the quad at 1-2 in the GCL, 2 games out of first.  

In game one, Joseph Geers set the pace for the Bombers with a 221 followed by Brogan James with a 194 and freshman Luke Stigall with a 180.  Bradley Giufre threw a 172 and Brady Johnson finished a 169 for a team gam of 936.  Elder's Jordan Rottinghouse threw a match high of 255 for the Panthers on their way to a 998.  La Salle's Jace Amann led the Lancers to an early lead with a 222 game for a 1011 game score.  Moeller's Thomas Dyjak shot a 216 for their 899 game.  

In game two, the Bombers crossed the 1000 mark at 1006 with a trio of 200s.  Joseph Geers finished his 454 series with a 233 game, Bradley Gifure shot a 210 (382 series), and Luke Stigall shot a 202 (282 series).  Brogan James finished his day with a 363 series on the back of a 169 game and Brady Johnson put up a 192 for a 361 series.  Jordan Rottinghouse shot a match high series of 502 putting Elder in a 100 pin lead with a 1148.  La Salle's Johnathan Schneider threw a 259 while the Lancers rolled a 1033 team game.  Moeller's Dalton Schotmiller put up a 214 for an 858 team game. Going to bakers, the Panthers led with 2146 followed by La Salle at 2044, the Bombers 1942 in third, and Moeller's 1757 in fourth.  

In bakers, the Bombers struggled early with games of 145, 162, 197, and 224 for a 728.  Elder pushed their lead out more with an 852 series, La Salle cruised with a 774, and Moeller shot a 642.  Elder wins the quad with a 2998 followed by La Salle at 2818, the Bombers with 2670, and Moeller at 2399.  Elder stays undefeated in the GCL at 6-0, La Salle goes to 4-2, X Falls to 2-4, and Moeller is 0-6.  

Bomber Strength:

In baker games, Brady Johnson is closing 81.2% of all frames he has thrown and 79% of all single pin spares.  Joseph Geers is striking at a 54% clip and Brogan James is closing 64% of all multi-pin spares.

Record Performances

Brogan James set a career high in the match with a series total of 363.  

Upcoming Schedule:

The Bombers return to the lanes for back to back tournaments with the Cardinal Class on Sunday the 19th and the King's Classic on the 20th.  They then face off against GCL rival Moeller on the 23rd and then have a weekend of travel.  The Bombers will roll in the East vs West Tournament at Western Bowl on the 25th before traveling north to Parma, Ohio to roll in the St. Iganatious Baker Tournament.  The Bombers finish January with a GCL match against La Salle ont eh 29th and senior night on the 31st.  

Around the GCL:

The Panthers lead the GCL at 6-0 followed by La Salle at 4-2.  The Bombers sit 3rd at 2-4 and Moeller is in fourth at 0-6.
