The St. Xavier Bowling Bombers have flirted with perfection multiple times over the years. Chris Obert threw the first 11 before ending with a 299 in 2021. Jared Littelmann at districts in 2020 had the front 11 before a 7 count ended it at 297. In 22 years as a program and over 115 bowlers through the program, 290 or more has been shot only 4 times.
The Bowling Bombers traveled to the Oldest Public Bowling Alley in America, Stones Lanes to take on Kettering-Fairmont. The Bombers most recently faced Kettering head to head last season at Woodman Lanes in Dayton.
In game one, the Bombers and the Firebirds struggled to find a repeatable shot. Senior
Aaron Bickford, however, found his shot early and was able to repeat it over and over again taking a perfect game to the 10th, where only 2 other Bowling Bombers had been previously.
Aaron's first shot of the 10th frame was tight shot straight down 15 hitting just a little heavy to keep perfection alive. His second shot of the 10th went a little heavier hitting high on the one pin as the 6 pin jumped into the gutter off the wall and took out the 10 pin for his 11th strike in a row. On his 12th shot, Aaron got it out wider than he had all day getting the ball out to the 8 board before it willed itself back to the pocket for the 12th and final strike of the game.
Senior
Aaron Bickford broke the 22 year long curse for the Bowling Bombers with his historical perfection in the oldest alley. Last season, Aaron got close at La Salle rolling his previous high game of his career, a 279. Aaron finished game 2 with a 201 for a 501 two-game series.
