The Bowling Bombers rolled into Western Bowl on Tuesday night to take on the GCL-leading Panthers. The Bombers and Panthers split their 4 games last season.
Freshman Luke Stigall paced the Bombers in game one with a 234 while Junior Joseph Geers and Senior Brady Johnson added games of 221 and 211 for the Bombers. Bradley Giufre shot a 198 and Jack Kaiser and Brogan James pushed with a 142. The Panthers Jordan Rottinghouse shot a game one high of 279 putting the Panthers ahead, 1070 to 1006.
In game two, Brady Johnson took over for the Bombers throwing a 243 for a 454 series. Luke Stigall added a 203 to his 437 series. Joseph Geers and Bradley Giufre broke 400 for the Bombers with games of 214 and 220 for a 435 and 418 each. Brogan James finished with a 180 for the Bombers highest single game this season with a 1060. Jordan Rottinghouse of the Panthers shot another 279 for a 558 (ties Elder School Record) pushing the Panthers to a 1081. Going to Bakers, the Bombers trailed 2066 to 2151.
During Bakers, the Bombers and Panthers traded 30 pins back and forth in games one and two with scores of 191 and 179 to 224 and 149. In game three the Bombers shaved the lead by 24 with a 203 to 179 game. The Bombers couldnt find the missing 60 pins in game four finishing 178 to 181. The Panthers hold on to win, 2884 to 2817.
The Bombers fall to 1 and 5 on the season and 1 and 2 in the GCL while the Panthers remain undefeated 4 and 0 on the year and 3-0 in the GCL.

Luke Stigall in back-to-back nights sets career highs in single games and 2 game series. Brady Johnson and Bradley Giufre set their individual games and 2 game series career highs tonight as well. Joseph Geers broke his career high 2 game series tonight

The Bombers have etched a record-breaking performance. The 2817 is the 63rd best match total in school history, the 1060 sits 70th, and Brady Johnson's 454 is 139 on the all-time school list.
