Football Falls to Louisville Trinity
In another Friday night showdown, St. Xavier faced off against Louisville Trinity High School, in a battle that showcased stellar defensive play. The match-up, marked by hard-hitting tackles and strategic maneuvers, culminated in a low-scoring final score of 7-3.
The first half was a defensive chess match, but Trinity struck just before halftime. With only 11 seconds remaining in the second quarter, they executed a perfectly timed 17-yard touchdown pass. The Bombers trailed 0-7 at the half.
Moving into the 2nd half, both defenses held strong, but the Bomber offense struggled to find its rhythm against Trinity's formidable line. It wasn't until the final minutes of the game that St. Xavier's Trent Maxam broke the silence with a clutch 40-yard field goal, narrowing the gap to 7-3 and reigniting hopes of a comeback. However, Trinity's defensive line held the Bombers until the final whistle.
Next up for the Bombers is the much-anticipated "King of the Road" contest this Friday at La Salle. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00pm at La Salle. Get your tickets here and be part of the action!
