Baseball Walks Off Elder at Home

Senior Tommy Googins capped off his remarkable 4-4 afternoon with a two-out single to center field, scoring Evan Weyler as the game winning run.

The Bombers entered the bottom of the 7th down 4-3 to to GCL power, Elder High School. After Weyler got on base as the game tying run with two outs, a hit by pitch advanced Weyler to 2nd and Googins took care of the rest.

Down 4-0 heading into the 4th inning, it was Googins who jumpstarted the Bomber comeback with a two-out single to right field to score two. Later, in the 5th, Thomas Ryan stole home to pull the Bombers within one run before Googins ended it in the 7th.

The win moves the Bombers to 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in GCL play. They're back in action on the road, Wednesday at La Salle High School at 5:00 pm. Purchase tickets here.
