Bomber Baseball Splits a Pair in the Jesuit Cup

The St. Xavier Baseball program played in the Jesuit Cup this past weekend, played annually amongst the collection of Jesuit high schools in the state of Ohio.

This season's edition of the Jesuit Cup was played in Toledo and hosted by Toledo St. John's Jesuit High School. The Bombers took on Walsh Jesuit in Game One action, losing 12-2. Walsh currently sits as the 2nd ranked team in the state for Division I baseball.

The Bombers bounced back appropriately, however, taking down the host team in St. John's Jesuit on Sunday. Off the strength of back to back home runs to start the game by Thomas Ryan and Jack Metzger, St. Xavier was able to jump out to an early lead, holding on to win 9-6.

The pair of games move St. X to 8-5 on the season. They currently sit at 3-2 in GCL play, good for one game out of first place. They return to GCL play with two games this week against the Elder Panthers.
