The Bowling Bombers and LaSalle Lancers have met 72 previous times dating back to the Bombers' first season in 2001-2002.  The Bombers have won 17 of those 72 matchups.  On Tuesday, January 4th, the Bombers (4-4, 2-3 GCL) and Lancers (3-2, 3-1 GCL) rolled at Colerain Bowl with GCL implications on the line.  The Bombers lost to LaSalle already this season during the first quad at Crossgate Lanes before winter break.  The Bombers last beat the Lancers on February 7th, 2020.  

In game one, the Bombers found themselves down by 98 pins when LaSalle jumped to an early 1027 to 929 lead.  Allen Rosal shot a 218 for the Bombers and Jared Littelmann put up a 204.  No other Bomber broke 200 with Chris Obert rolling a 190, Jalen Morrow closing 8 of 10 frames for a 167, and Zack Beard and Andrew Berkemeier hitting a 150.  LaSalle was led by Nate Williams with a 215, Quentin Morgan with a 212, and Noah Seng with a 204.  Tyler Richmond and Gordon Stuard put games of 199 and 197 on the board for the Lancers.  

In game two, the Lancers put up a strong 1042 with Seng throwing a 235.  Richmond and Stuard put up a 215 and a 213 While Williams and Morgan finished with a 196 and 183.  Jalen Morrow found his shot in game two with a lengthy string of strikes to roll a 269 for a 436 series.  Jared Littelmann finished as the high series for the Bombers with 449 thanks to his 245 game 2.  Andrew Berkemeier struggled in frame one but then found his shot giving the Bombers a 237.  Allen Rosal shot a 229 for the Bombers finishing his day with a 447.  Chris Obert and Euell Yohannes combined for a 157 game.  The Bombers shot 1137 in game two to pull with 3 pins of the Lancers, trailing 2069 to 2066.

In bakers, the Bombers opened game one with 6 strikes and a spare on their way to a 240 as the Lancers rolled a 176.  The Bombers found themselves leading for the first time in the match with a 61 pin advantage.  The Bombers added 16 with a 224 to 208 game 2.  The Bombers ended LaSalle's hopes of a comeback with a 226 to 163 game 3 pushing their lead to 140 with one baker game left.  The Bombers finished with an 886 in Bakers with a final game of 196 while LaSalle finished with a 187 for a 734 series.  

The Bombers win 2952 to 2803 on the road.  The win pushes the Bombers to 5 and 4 on the season and an even 3 and 3 in the GCL.  LaSalle falls to 3 and 3 on the season and sits at 3 and 2 in the GCL.  The Bombers sit in 3rd in the GCL with Elder at the top with 5 wins and 0 losses and LaSalle sitting in second.  LaSalle faces off against Elder on Thursday of this week and then again on Tuesday next week.  

Record Performances

The Bombers' performance on the lanes was of historic proportions Tuesday afternoon.  The Bombers' 886 baker series is 3rd best school history.  Their 2952 team match series is 5th best and their 1137 is the 6th best team game in school history.  The Bombers also notched the 83rd best baker game with a 240.  

Upcoming Schedule

The Bombers have a relatively quiet week with only the Back to School Bash on Sunday January 9th.  Then starting January 15th the Bombers roll in the first ever Private School State Challenge at Wayne Webb's Columbus Bowl then on the 16th they shoot at the LaSalle Baker Bash.  The Bombers will spend the 17th at Royal-Z Lanes in the Muskingum High School Invite.  Then they are back in GCL play with Elder on the 18th and LaSalle on the 20th.
