The Bowling Bombers returned the lanes, but in a new home at Western Bowl, on Tuesday to take on the Centerville Elk. The Bombers enter their 20th season looking to solidify themselves as a contender coming out of the Southwest corner of the state. In 20 years, the Bombers and the Elk have never met in a match. Centerville has beaten X a few times in tournaments over the years and this years Centerville team returned with some firepower. Centerville, finished second last season in the state, came into this match having just won the Ohio State Kick Off Tournament the week prior.
In game one, the Bombers rolled a team score of 991. Juniors
Zackary Beard and
Jared Littelmann paced the Bombers with a 234 and 231 respectively.
Allen Rosal rolled a 178,
Christopher Obert shot a 177, and senior
Owen Sena finished with a 171. Centerville scored an 1133 with three bowlers rolling over 230.
Heading into game two, the Bombers were down 142 pins. St Xavier shot a 1063 in the second game, which is good enough for 46th best in team history.
Jared Littelmann continues to etch his name in the record books throwing a 290 which puts him in the top 2 spots for high games in school history.
Zackary Beard shot a 237,
Owen Sena finished with a 199,
Allen Rosal completed his night with a 170, and
Christopher Obert rolled a 167.
Jared Littelmann's 521 2 game series places him fourth overall and
Zackary Beard's 471 puts him at 46th. After two games the Bombers found themselves up by 4 pins after Centerville rolled a 917.
In bakers, the Bombers and Elk traded places a few times with the Bombers rolling 231, 163, 235, and 202 to the Elk's 211, 208, 201, and 145. The Bombers beat the Elk in their very first head to head match 2885 to 2815. The Bombers shot a total of 831 in bakers which is the 24th best baker series in team history and their 2885 is the 12th best finish by any Bomber squad. The Bombers are off till Tuesday December 1 when they host the LaSalle Lancers in a kick-off to the GCL part of the season.
