Bombers Take Second at GCL Quad

Bombers Move to Second in GCL

On Friday night, the Bombers traveled to Colerain Bowl to roll in the first of 2 GCL quads of the season.  The Bombers entered Friday sitting in third in the GCL trailing behind conference leader LaSalle (4-0) and Elder (1-1).  

In game 1, the Bombers shot a 944.  Junior Jared Littelmann and Senior Owen Sena paced the Bombers with a 214 and 212.  Christopher Obert shot a 179, Zackary Beard shot a 152, and Allen Rosal and Jalen Morrow combined for a 187.  The Bombers saw them selves sitting in third as LaSalle shot a 1052 and Elder shot a 973.  Moeller shot an 837 in Game one.  

In game 2, the Bombers pusehd their team total to 1921 with a roung of 977.  Zackary Beard bounced back to a 224 game for a 376 series.  Owen Sena shot a 201 for a 413 series.  Jalen Morrow finished with a 191.  Fellow Juniors Jared Littelmann and Christopher Obert shot a 181 and 180 for a 395 series (Littelmann) and a 359 series (Obert).  The Bombers lost ground to LaSalle as they shot a 1064 for a 2116 series.  Elder pushed their lead as they rolled a 982 for a 1955 series while Moeller shot a 776 for a 1613 series.  

Entering Bakers, the Bombers trailed LaSalle by 195 pins and trailed Elder by 34 pins.  The Bombers were up over 300 pins to Moeller going into bakers.  In game 1, the Bombers closed all but 2 frames to shoot a 198.  LaSalle opened scoring with a 185, Elder shot a 155, and Moeller shot a 145.  The Bombers moved past Elder to take a 5 pin lead and would not relenquish the lead over the Panthers for the final 3 games.  In Game 2 the Bombers shot the highest Baker of the night with a 238 with LaSalle shooting a 222, Elder rolling a 225, and Moeller shooting a 132.  In Game 3, the Bombers shot a 216 with LaSalle rolling a 199, Elder shot a 179, and Moeller shooting a 127.  Heading into the 4th Baker, the Bombers trailed LaSalle by 149 pins but held a 55 pin lead over Elder and 500 pin lead over Moeller.  Elder rolled a 208, LaSalle shot a 193, and Moeller shot a 151 while the Bombers rolled a 194.  Baker total for the Bombers was a match high of 846 with LaSalle shooting a 799, Elder totalling a 767, and Moeller finishing with a 555.  

LaSalle won the first GCL quad with a total of 2915, St. X took second with a 2767, Elder finished with a 2722, and Moeller totaled 2168.  With the 2 wins and 1 loss of the night, the Bombers move into a 2 way tie with Elder for second in the GCL and they now sit at 6-4 on the season.  

GCL Rivalry:
This was the 70th time the Lancers and Bombers have rolled each other.  The Bombers trail the series 17-53.  This was the first victory over the Elder Panthers since December 13th, 2018.  The Bombers next GCL match-ups are on January 19th against Elder and January 26th against Moeller.  

Record Performances:
The Bowling Bombers shot a 238 for the 86th best baker game in team history and rolled an 846 which sits as the 17th best team performance in school history.  

Upcoming Schedule:
The Bombers are off till Monday when they travel north to Beaver-Vu Bowl to participate in the Baker Bash.
