On Friday, February 7, the Bombers traveled to Western Bowl for the final match of the season in a GCL quad hosted by the Elder Panthers. Heading into the match, Elder and LaSalle have locked up their positions in 1 and 2 with Moeller and the Bombers in competition for the 3rd spot in the GCL. The Moeller Crusaders needed to finish in first with the Bombers finishing in 4th to create a 3rd place tie in the final GCL standings.
In game one, the Bombers shot a 1011, with sophomores
Jared Littelmann (235) and
Allen Rosal (217) leading the way. The Moeller Crusaders opened up game one with the lead over the pack shooting a 1097, Elder rolling a 1036, and the LaSalle Lancers rolling an 885.
In game two, the Bombers shot a 962 with junior
Owen Sena rolling a 211 (403 series), sophomore Zack Beard with a 213 (402 series), and sophomore
Allen Rosal shooting a 207 (424 series). The Panthers shot a 1050, the Crusaders followed with a 963, and the Lancers with a 922. Heading into the baker round, the Panthers were leading with a 2086, the Crusaders in 2nd with 2060, the Bombers in 3rd with a 1973, and the Lancers rolling an 1807.
In bakers, the Bombers shot a 170, 186, 158, and 164 to finish with a 2651. The Panthers finished with a 2883, the Crusaders shot a 2820, and the Lancers shot a 2549. The Bombers win over the Lancers is the first time the Bombers have beaten LaSalle since December 5th, 2017. The Bombers finish the season 7-15 overall and 5-13 in the GCL (2-2 outside the GCL). The Bombers have a week off and will be rolling at Crossgate Lanes for sectionals on Wednesday February 19th.
