On Tuesday, January 28th, the Bombers traveled to Crossgate Lanes for the last head to head match up of the 2020 GCL season. The Bombers came in with a 3-11 record in the GCL to Moellers 1-13. The Crusaders beat the Bombers the last time they faced each other at the Colerain Quad.
In game one, the Bombers found themselves trailing 892 to 890. The Crusaders' John Painter and Matt Longwell led the way with a 215 and 204. The Bombers' sophomores
Jared Littelmann (408 series) and
Zackary Beard were high games in game 1 shooting a 228 and a 179.Â
In game two, the Bombers found some pins shooting a 902 while the Crusaders show an 874. Moeller's Matt Longwell shot another 204 (408 series) and Nolan Brun shot a 200 (363 series). For the Bombers, senior Josh Barbee shot a 223 and
Zackary Beard shot a 189 (368 series). Going to Bakers, the Bombers held a 26 pin lead 1792 to 1766.
In Bakers, the Bombers lost 8 pins in game one falling 169 to 161. In game 2, the Bombers answered back with a 194 to 145. In game 3, the Crusaders shot a 212 but with a final 5 frame rally the Bombers shot a 214. In game four, the Bombers rolled a 195 to Moellers 214 sealing the victory. The Bombers move to 4-11 in the GCL and 6-13 for the season. Â
The Bombers final match of the season is Friday, February 7th with the Elder Quad at Western Bowl. The final standings have been mostly locked as Elder will win the GCL and LaSalle will finish in second. If the Bombers finish ahead of Moeller they will lock up the 3rd position in the GCL, if Moeller wins the Quad they tie for 3rd in the GCL.
