Coach Dawson joined the staff in the fall of 2025. However, he is no stranger to historic Keating Natatorium. A former AquaBomber as both a swimmer and water polo player, he brings significant knowledge, experience and outstanding leadership skills.
An honor student while at St. X, Ben graduated in 2020. As an athlete, he was a member of the swimming team his freshman year and a standout water polo player all four years. He received the Men for Others team award and 3rd team All-Ohio accolades senior year.
Moving on to the University of Cincinnati, Dawon continued to excel in the classroom and the pool. A regular on the Dean’s list, he graduated with a BS in Psychology with a minor in Spanish. In addition, he earned a certificate in Intelligence and Crime Analysis.
A three year starter and 2 time captain for the Bearcat water polo team, prepared him well for what has followed. Coach Dawson is the head coach of the St. Xavier water polo program. In his two years at the helm, the squad has produced two 3rd place Ohio finishes. He also spent a season with Mason High water polo. Ben is also in his third year coaching with the Great Lakes Zone Olympic Development program.
Most recently, he joined the staff at “Bomberville” working with the dynamic and innovative Maker Space department.
