Tim Beerman remains a valued member of the AquaBombers program following six years as the head coach (2014-2021). Coach Beerman’s resume’ and successes reflect continuity of quality for St. Xavier Swimming & Diving. His six year tenure produced six Ohio Championships, five National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association (NISCA) crowns, as well as the 2017 Swimming World mythical National title. The consecutive streak of GCL, Sectional and District wins also continued during this period. Beerman is quick to point out the successes of these years were built on a solid foundation and fostered by a talented and experienced coaching staff.
Prior to taking the top spot at St. X, he served as an assistant with Coach Brower (’99 – ’03, ’09 – ’11 and ’15). In addition, he was the head coach for the very successful Ursuline Academy squad from 1998 – 2009. During that period, the Lions earned four Ohio State Division I crowns and seven runner-up finishes. He also coached at Sycamore High. He has an extensive club coaching background as well.
Beerman has garnered significant recognition for his coaching performances. In 2002, he was named High School Girls Swimming Coach of the Year by the National High School Coaches Association. While at Ursuline, he also was honored as GGCL, District and Cincinnati Coach of the Year on numerous occasions. As head coach at St. X, he was selected as Ohio, SW District, GCL and Cincinnati Coach of the Year. Few coaches have had such success with interscholastic coaching positions with girls and boys programs. In 2024, he was inducted into the Ohio High School Swimming Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
A 1986 graduate of Moeller High School where he was a state qualifier, he moved on to the University of Notre Dame. Tim graduated from N.D. in 1990 with a BA in Theology and Philosophy. His educational background and personal beliefs have prepared him well for a 22 year career in teaching at St. Xavier and Ursuline Academy. His passion lies in promoting faith as a lived reality in the lives of others as a continued opportunity for growth, renewal and relationship with Christ. He serves on the faculty at St. X in Campus Ministry, directing the KAIROS retreat program. Previously at Ursuline he was on the Religious Studies faculty and Director of Community Ministries.
He has been active in Bellermine Chapel’s music ministry for over a dozen years and has mentored countless students through teaching, retreat ministry and by mission trip experiences.
