Caitlin Barner began working with the St. Xavier program in 2018. She came prepared with a solid background in swimming and education, as well as significant interest and history of helping individuals improve. Her level of enthusiasm is demonstrated on a daily basis.
A four year varsity swimmer while at Forest Hills Eastern High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, she qualified for the State Championships her final two seasons. Caitlin also was named All Conference three of those years. Following her outstanding interscholastic career, she continued to compete as a member of the Xavier University Club Team for four years. During her final two seasons she served as Vice-President of the squad.
Coach Barner earned a BS in Early Childhood Education at XU. Currently, she is pursuing her masters in this field. She is on the faculty of Chase Elementary School in the Cincinnati Public School system.
Prior to joining the AquaBombers , Barner coached in Grand Rapids, as well as three seasons (two as head coach) at North Hills in the PPSL. She shared the deck with fellow St. X coach Zach Vogelpohl with the “Froggies”.
