Bombers to the League: St. Xavier Celebrates Parker and Klare in 2026 NFL Draft

The legacy of St. Xavier High School football reached new heights this weekend, as two alumni—Brian Parker II and Max Klare—were selected in the 2026 NFL Draft, marking a proud moment for the Bombers community.

Max Klare '22 – 2nd Round, No. 61 Overall (Los Angeles Rams)

Klare, a Class of 2022 graduate, was selected in the 2nd round (61st overall) by the Los Angeles Rams.

After beginning his collegiate career at Purdue, Klare elevated his game at Ohio State, earning First-Team All-Big Ten honors during the 2025 season. Known for his athleticism and versatility, he developed into one of the top tight ends in the country.

In his final collegiate season, Klare recorded:

  • 43 receptions
  • 448 receiving yards
  • 2 touchdowns

Across his college career, he totaled 1,300+ receiving yards and 6 touchdowns, showcasing his ability to impact the passing game at a high level.

Brian Parker II '21 – 6th Round, No. 189 Overall (Cincinnati Bengals)

Parker, a Class of 2021 graduate, was selected in the 6th round (189th overall) by the hometown Cincinnati Bengals.

Following a dominant career at St. Xavier—where he was a team captain, two-time conference offensive lineman of the year, and First-Team All-Ohio selection—Parker continued his success at Duke University.

During his time with the Blue Devils, Parker:

  • Played in 40 games
  • Made 33 starts
  • Started every game in both the 2024 and 2025 seasons
  • Earned Second-Team All-ACC honors (twice)
  • Was named a Second-Team All-American (Walter Camp, 2025)

His transition from tackle to center ahead of the draft highlighted his versatility, toughness, and football IQ—traits that made him a strong addition for Cincinnati.

Among the Nation's Best

St. Xavier's impact in this year's draft extended far beyond Cincinnati.

The Bombers were one of just 10 high school programs in the country to produce multiple selections in the 2026 NFL Draft, joining elite company such as IMG Academy, St. Frances Academy, and Mater Dei High School.

Programs with multiple draft picks included:

  • IMG Academy (FL) – 5
  • St. Frances Academy (MD) – 4
  • Mater Dei (CA) – 3
  • Archbishop Spalding (MD) – 2
  • Austin Westlake (TX) – 2
  • Clearwater Academy International (FL) – 2
  • Marist (IL) – 2
  • Pickerington Central (OH) – 2
