SENIOR NIGHT PRODUCES ST. X WIN
On Thursday, January 29, St. Xavier Swimming and Diving hosted Senior night recognition for the AquaBombers, as well as Moeller, St. Ursula and Ursuline.  Following an emotional tribute to nearly 50 athletes and their parents, the action shifted to the waters of historic Keating Natatorium.
The Long Blue Lane was on its game winning 9 of 11 events and outscoring Moeller 178 – 105.

However, the "veterans" had plenty of help from the underclassmen in the winners' circle:

"We are committed to competing with our opponents.  That is no truer than Senior Night, as we celebrate the achievements of those from Moeller, St. Ursula and Ursuline Academy.  As a father of a St. X graduate, I understand what Senior nigh means.  A wonderful and touching tribute to all," reflected head coach Jim Brower.
 
"For many years, I have been a part of Senior nigh and have shared it with my sister, Lelia Keefe Kramer (President of SUA).  As she is in her final year, I thank her and congratulate her on a job so well done," commented assistant head coach Tom Keefe.
 
"Nothing like a dual meet at historic Keating Natatorium.  Watching our guys race brings back memories of their growth, as well as my days as an AquaBomber," reminisced coach Jim Counts.
 
"So much transpires on Senior Night.  Having been a part of it for many years does not diminish the importance nor excitement of quality competition from all 4 teams involved," concluded coach Tim Beerman. (Beerman has coached both State Championship teams at St. X and Ursuline in his hall of fame career.)
