Bombers Roll Past Cathedral, Improve to 3–0

The Bombers made the trip to Indianapolis on Saturday and came home with another big win, knocking off Cathedral 24–6 at Key Stadium to stay unbeaten on the season.
St. X wasted no time setting the tone. Daniel Vollmer finished off the Bombers' opening scoring drive with a 1-yard touchdown run, and after a quick turnover, Owen Davidson drilled a 32-yard field goal to make it 10–0 in the first quarter.
Quarterback Jackson Frey was sharp all afternoon, throwing for 206 yards and two touchdowns. His first strike came in the second quarter, a 23-yard connection with Alex McClatchey that gave St. X a commanding 17–0 lead.
Cathedral chipped away with a pair of field goals, but the Bombers delivered the knockout punch in the third. Frey dropped back and hit Aidan Newdigate in stride for a 69-yard touchdown — the highlight of the game — pushing the lead to 24–6.
The defense did the rest. Led by Griffin Lyons' seven tackles and a sack, St. X forced three turnovers and kept Cathedral's offense out of the end zone all night. Josh Fasbender and Brayden Reilly came up with key plays in the secondary, and the front seven made every yard tough to earn.
On offense, Newdigate (4 catches, 90 yards, 1 TD) and Cameron Taylor (3 catches, 66 yards) led a balanced attack that kept Cathedral on its heels.
With the 24–6 victory, St. Xavier improves to 3–0 on the season. The Bombers return home next week looking to keep the momentum rolling vs. Westerville North
