Basketball Powers Past Beavercreek in Another Home Victory

Basketball Powers Past Beavercreek in Another Home Victory

The St. Xavier Basketball Bombers continued their strong season with a dominant 64-32 victory over Beavercreek last night. The win improves St. Xavier's record to an impressive 10-2 as they showed off their offensive firepower and solid defense, overwhelming Beavercreek from start to finish.

The Bombers wasted no time setting the tone in the first quarter, outscoring Beavercreek 16-7 behind a stellar performance from Donovan Waleskowski. The senior guard was electric, hitting 5 of 7 three-pointers on his way to a team-high 17 points. His hot shooting early on gave St. Xavier the cushion they needed and allowed them to control the tempo of the game.

As the game wore on, St. Xavier's offensive depth was on full display. Brayden Reilly contributed 6 points and 6 rebounds, while Jacob Wassler and Kobe Clapper added 12 points between them. The team shot an efficient 57.4% from the field, making it difficult for Beavercreek to keep pace.

The Bombers didn't just dominate on offense—they also controlled the boards and played excellent defense. The team outscored Beavercreek 40-16 in the paint and forced the visitors into tough shots all night long. Wassler and Reilly both played key roles on the defensive end, disrupting Beavercreek's offense and forcing them into turnovers. The team capitalized on these opportunities, scoring 17 points off turnovers, further widening their lead.

Despite solid individual performances from Isaiah M-Williams (10 points) and Kaden Ellerbe (9 points) for Beavercreek, the visitors struggled to get anything going offensively. St. Xavier's defensive pressure stifled their attack, and they never had a real chance to mount a serious comeback.

With the game well in hand, St. Xavier's bench played a key role in keeping the momentum rolling, adding 24 points to the scoreboard. Liam McGeady and Charlie Gruber each contributed 7 points off the bench, showing the depth and balance of this year's team.
