Soccer Takes Down Centerville in Exhilarating Comeback Win
 

In a match that started with rainy conditions and mental challenges, but ended in jubilation, the Bombers pulled off the stunning comeback against Centerville, securing a 3-2 victory. 

The game began with Centerville taking an early lead, establishing their dominance on the field. The Bombers struggled to find their rhythm, facing tough defensive pressure and a few missed opportunities. However, the turning point came in the 34th minute when junior David Jackson found the back of the net, sparking hope for St. Xavier. With this goal, the Bombers finally got on the scoreboard, making it Bombers 1, Centerville 2.

As the second half unfolded, the Bombers continued to push forward, determined to level the match. Their efforts paid off in the 65th minute when Jackson struck again, this time capitalizing on a beautifully executed set piece from Charlie Lynch. At that point, the Bombers tied the game at 2-2.

The excitement reached its peak in the final minutes of the match. With the clock winding down and tension mounting, senior Antony Santagata delivered an absolute dagger (in the 77th minute), slotting the ball into the net to give the Bombers a thrilling 3-2 lead. The stadium erupted with cheers as fans celebrated a remarkable turnaround.

St. Xavier was able to hold off the Centerville Elks in the last moments of the match, clinching a 3-2 home victory. 

The Bombers look to continue this momentum at their next game on Wednesday, October 2nd at Elder High School. JV plays at 5:00, and Varsity is at 7:00.
