Box Score Bomber Football Captures First Victory of the Season At Centerville

The Bombers hit the road again last Friday night where they met the Centerville Elks for a rather hot August showdown. Despite the harsh summer temperatures, the Bombers came out on top with a dominating victory of 34-10.Â
St. Xavier took full control early on in the contest when
Daniel Vollmer ran for a 48-yard touchdown in the middle of the first quarter. Just two plays later,
Brayden Reilly recovered a forced fumble on Centerville's 16-yard line. The Bombers used this turnover to their fullest advantage as
Jake Britt ran for a 16-yard touchdown making it 14-0. A few minutes later, Centerville answered with a 43-yard field goal.Â
The dominance continued for the Bombers late in the 2nd quarter with a 3-yard rushing touchdown fromÂ
Daniel Vollmer concluding an 8-play drive of 73 yards. The Bombers went into halftime with a comfortable lead of 21-3.Â
In the opening drive of the 2nd half, quarterback
Chase Herbstreit connected again with
Jake Britt for a 63-yard touchdown reception, making the game 28-3 early in the 3rd quarter.Â
The Bombers opened the final quarter with a
Daniel Vollmer pass to
Kobe Clapper for a 9-yard touchdown reception.Â
Centerville concluded the contest with a 14-yard reception touchdown to make the final score 34-10.Â
