Soccer Defeats Elder in GCL Matchup

Last night, the Bombers hosted the Elder Panthers for a classic GCL battle at RDI Stadium and Ballaban Field.

Sophomore Jack Sweeney put the Bombers on top early in the contest (in the 4th minute) with a tap-in goal thanks to a perfect assist from senior Charlie Lynch. Later, in the 2nd half, senior Bennett Tekavec sent it forward to junior Rowdy Scheer who successfully snuck past Elder's goalkeeper to chip in the 2nd goal of the night. From there on, the Bombers were able to secure a 2-1 victory over the Panthers.

St. Xavier is now 4-3-1 for the season, and they stand at 1-1 in the GCL with 4 more conference games to play.

The Bombers hit the road this Saturday, September 14th to play a non-conference double-header vs. Olentangy Liberty. Freshman/JV get things started at 2:00pm with Varsity to follow at 4:00pm.
