Soccer Shuts Out Anderson in Home Opener
It was another beautiful night for soccer as the St. Xavier Bombers hosted the Anderson Raptors for their season home opener at RDI Stadium and Ballaban Field. Â
Following a scoreless first half, senior
Bennett Tekavec found a sweet spot with an outstanding solo goal in the 46th minute. Soon after, junior
David Jackson added to the total with a goal just inside the goal box. Senior goalkeeper
Luke Smith has performed 2 shut-out games with a total of 8 saves thus far. A strong start for the Bombers as they are now 2-0-0 in the first week of the season.Â
They are back in action this weekend as they travel to Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, OH for the annual Jesuit Cup. St. Xavier will compete against St. John's Jesuit on Saturday, August 24th at 3:00, and they will play either St. Ignatius or Walsh Jesuit the following day at 11:00.Â
