Baseball Splits a Pair at Jesuit Cup

Bomber Baseball traveled to Cleveland this weekend to compete in the annual Jesuit Cup, hosted this year by St. Ignatius High School.

The Bombers opened play Saturday afternoon with a match up against St. John's Jesuit. Down 4-3 in the bottom of the 6th inning, senior Michael Zipperer stepped in to pinch hit and delivered a 2-RBI single to give the Bombers the lead and ultimately the victory.

After an evening of fellowship among the Jesuit institutions, the Bombers got back to competition and took on St. Ignatius on Sunday morning where they fell 3-2 to the Wildcats.

The Bombers return to GCL play tonight, April 29th when they travel to Elder to take on the Panthers at 5:00 pm at the Panther Athletic Complex. Elder returns the trip to St. Xavier on Wednesday, May 5th for another league contest at 5:00 pm.
