Game Recap: Basketball |

Bombers Take Care of Business Over the Weekend

The Basketball Bombers had a busy week of games that resulted in two big victories and a tough loss. On Tuesday, the Bombers took road to Beavercreek High School where they suffered a gutting defeat to the Beavers by the final of 56-52. Junior Donovan Waleskowski led the way with 18 points.

On Friday, St. Xavier hosted LaSalle in what was yet another GCL classic. The Bombers trailed by as many as ten but mounted a furious 4th quarter comeback led by senior guards Dominic Sidoti and Andrew Weber. Weber finished with 17 points and 4 steals. Sidoti finished with 13 points including the game winning turnaround floater with 0.8 seconds left to seal the 49-47 Bomber victory.

On Saturday, St. Xavier turned right back around to face Wyoming, who had just suffered their first loss of the season the previous night. After an early offensive struggle, the Bombers gained control in the 2nd half and cruised to a 50-37 win. Sophomore Brayden Reilly led the Bombers with 13 points while Dominic Sidoti cashed in four threes to finish with 12 points.

The Freshman and JV teams took care of business, both winning all three games this week. The Freshman now sit at 18-2 on the season while the JV continue their now 14-game winning streak at 15-1.
St. Xavier travels to Archbishop Moeller High School on Friday night for their penultimate GCL matchup before they host Sycamore High School on Saturday.
