Bomber Basketball Is 5-0 After Double Overtime Thriller
In what will go down as one of the most exciting games of the season, the St. Xavier Bombers defeated Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy (CHCA)Â 63-62 in double overtime last night. The Bombers showed grit and determination, especially in the clutch moments of the game.
After trailing 20-30 at the end of the first half, St. Xavier's defense kept them within striking distance. Senior forward Jacob Wassler was the standout player, scoring a game-high 31 points on 13-19 shooting and grabbing 7 rebounds. Senior guard Donovan Waleskowski added 15 points, hitting 3 three-pointers.
The game was tied multiple times, with Luke Sanders leading CHCA with 20 points, but the Bombers' defense and timely offense kept them in control. In the second overtime, Brayden Reilly and Luke Sorce contributed key plays, including crucial free throws. St. Xavier remains perfect with a 5-0 record and many more games to be played in the winter season.Â
With this hard-fought win, the Bombers have proven they can perform under pressure, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.Â
