Soccer Shuts Out Lakota East On Senior Night
Â
St. Xavier welcomed the Lakota East Thunderhawks to campus for Senior Night this past Saturday. The Bombers came out on top with a dominant shut-out victory of 4-0. In addition to the win, the evening was filled with memorable moments, particularly for the senior players who left their mark on the game.
The scoring kicked off in the 20th minute when senior Dominic Fermann delivered a stunning header off a perfectly placed cross. This goal not only ignited the Bomber offense but also marked Fermann's first varsity goal, making it a night to remember for the senior.
As the clock ticked down to the 39th minute, sophomore Jack Sweeney added to the scoreline with a tapper goal thanks to a well-placed cross from junior Alex Haddad. This gave the Bombers a comfortable 2-0 lead heading into halftime.
The second half continued the Bombers' offensive onslaught. In the 52nd minute, Fermann struck again, netting his second goal of the night.Â
The Bombers widened their lead in the 64th minute when senior Charlie Lynch delivered a spectacular shot that left spectators in awe. His goal further showcased the Bombers' dominance throughout the match.Â
Congratulations again to the 9 seniors and their families: Dominic Fermann, Davis House, Evin Lodder, Charlie Lynch, Antony Santagata, Adam Schwab, Henry Sheridan, Luke Smith, and Bennett Tekavec.Â
St. Xavier now sits at an overall record of 8-6-1, with one more regular-season game to play on the road. All three teams of the soccer program take a trip down North Bend Road this Wednesday to face GCL competitor La Salle in their season finales.
