Soccer Downs La Salle in Regular Season Finale
The St. Xavier Soccer Bombers wrapped up their regular season with a solid 4-2 victory over the La Salle Lancers last night. This win capped off another competitive season for the team.
Junior Alex Haddad opened the scoring early in the first half, finding the net after a cross from senior Dominic Fermann. This goal marked Haddad's second in the last two games.
Senior Davis House soon followed, scoring his first varsity goal from outside the goal box, bringing energy to the team and fans alike. Just before halftime, senior Charlie Lynch added another goal, giving the Bombers a comfortable 3-1 lead at the break.
The second half featured a back-and-forth exchange between the two teams. Senior Antony Santagata later set up freshman Zac Linenkugel for his first career goal with a well-placed corner kick, making it 4-1. Although La Salle managed to score again, the Bombers held on for a 4-2 victory.
With this win, the Bombers finished the regular season with a record of 9-6-1 and placed second in the GCL, behind Moeller.
Looking ahead, the Bombers will host West Clermont for the OHSAA District Semi-Final on Tuesday, October 22nd, at 7:00 PM. Please note that Bomber Passes will not be accepted for this post-season game. The link for purchasing tickets will be available on the athletics website soon.
