Hileman's Big Day Gets Bombers in the Win Column

Bomber Baseball traveled to Anderson on Thursday night to take on the Raptors in a non-conference matchup, coming home with an 11-7 victory.

A first inning two-run homerun from Brennan Hileman set the tone for the Bomber offense as they raced out to a 10-1 lead after the top of the 4th inning. Anderson pulled to within four in the bottom of the 7th, but their comeback attempt was ultimately thwarted.

Hileman, a senior headed to play for Wofford next year, ended the day accounting for 8 of the Bomber's 11 runs as he finished 2-4 from the plate with 2 walks, 4 runs scored, and 4 RBIs. Junior Marty Geppert picked up the win (2-0) after going 3.0 IP, allowing 2 hits, and collecting 5 strikeouts.

The win brings the Bomber record to 9-6 on the season. They were slated to host the Jesuit Cup this weekend, but weather forecasts have turned that into just a doubleheader against St. Ignatius High School at Miami-Hamilton's Foundation Field. First pitch for game one is currently set for 11:00 am.
