Senior Night Dual Goes to St. Xavier

Senior Night Dual Goes to St. Xavier

Facing a very talented and deep Moeller squad, the Long Blue Lane prevailed 171 – 115, while swimming to 9 of 11 wins.  Historic Keating Natatorium was the place to be as St. Ursula Academy, Ursuline Academy, Moeller and St. X honored their seniors prior to the meet.  It was a fitting conclusion for the AquaBombers 17 soon to be graduates:
But the "Pomp and Circumstance" that preceded the competition was followed by a celebration in the pool as all four schools raced hard and well.  For the home squad, the seniors got significant help from their younger teammates, as every class was represented in the winner's circle.

The relays were strong going 1 – 2 in all three and the 200 IM saw Grisi, Ward and Dillon go
1-2-3.

Diving standout Gavin Hang even got in on the action as part of a 200 Free Relay.  The packed spectator area was loud and supportive as the dual meet season comes to an end.  JV Invitational is slated for Saturday with GCL Championships next week.

COACHES COMMENTS –

"Having experienced Senior Night myself, I know how special it can be.  To see our athletes and those from the other schools underscores our journey together," reflected head coach Dave Albert.

"We learned a great deal tonight.  Certainly the atmosphere was conducive to fast swims.  We congratulate all the seniors and are grateful for their contributions," noted assistant head coach Jim Brower.

"No question Senior Night is cause to reflect.  And when the reflection was over it was gratifying to see so many success stories play out in the pool," concluded assistant head coach Tom Keefe.
