AquaBombers Fall in Battle of the Borders

The defending NISCA dual meet champion Louisville St. Xavier prevailed against the AquaBombers from Cincinnati 206 – 80. A fast paced meet and a charged atmosphere resulted in some significant performances from both squads. The meet was held at Blairwood Country Club.

Leading the AquaBombers was Thackston McMullan [JR] who earned a win in the 500 Free and was joined on the victorious 200 Free Relay by Max Ward [JR], Kyle Silvestain {SR], and Alex Ingram [JR]. Other top 3 finishers were:

200 Medley Relay – Ward, Jaeger Ellerman [SO], Silvestain, Chase Grisi [FR] (3^rd)
200 Free – Ingram (3^rd)
50 Free – Ellerman (3^rd)
100 Fly – Ward (3^rd)
100 Breast – Ingram (3^rd)
400 Free Relay – Ingram, Grisi, McMullan, Luca Eckert [SR] (3^rd)

COACHES COMMENTS –

"The event certainly offered us the opportunity to race as a team against outstanding competition," noted head coach Dave Albert.

"I was proud of how our guys raced. We've been swimming Louisville St. X for many years and the meet has a unique quality," commented assistant head coach Jim Brower.

"We continue to learn and develop as we move through our schedule. With the covid year this is the first time we have faced off in Louisville since December 2018," reflected assistant head coach Tom Keefe.
