Bomber Soccer Splits at Jesuit Cup

St. Xavier Soccer went up to Toledo this past weekend to compete in the annual Jesuit Cup where the four Jesuit high schools in the state of Ohio come together for a weekend of soccer games.

Day One action on Saturday (8/27) began with the Bombers taking on the state and country's number one team in St. Ignatius High School. The reigning state champions took down the Bombers by a score of 6-2. Senior forward Reece Heisel scored both goals for the Bombers.

Day Two play brought Walsh Jesuit High School to take on St. Xavier on Sunday (8/28) morning. It was Heisel once again on the goal for the Bombers, scoring the game winner with five-minutes remaining in the first half. The two teams played scoreless soccer the rest of the match, leading to a 1-0 victory. Senior goalie Luke Eckert had the shutout for the Bombers.

It doesn't get much easier for St. Xavier as their return to action is their GCL opener. They're on the road at La Salle High School on Thursday, September 1st at 7:15 pm. Tickets can be purchased here.
