AQUABOMBERS SNAG 52ND CINCINNATI SECTIONAL

When the OHSAA Sectionals roll around, the St. Xavier Swimming and Diving team has two goals – win the meet and qualify every athlete for the District.  The AquaBombers are pleased to report, missions accomplished.  The squad earned its 52nd consecutive Cincinnati Sectional crown on Friday, February 11 at Keating Natatorium coupled with diving at West Clermont the following day.  The Long Blue Lane accumulated 691 points to out distance the field. Elder finished 2nd with 357, while Oak Hills was third (319).

All three relays were victorious and set the tone for a team effort.
McMullan was the only multiple individual champion (200 and 500 Free).  He was joined in the winners circle by Tobery (50 Free), Guenther (100 Fly), Jaeger Ellerman [FR] (100 Breast) and Gavin Hang [JR] (Diving).

The distance crew of McMullan, Ingram, Nick Stroh [JR], Levi Shooner [SR] swept the race going 1 – 4.  The flyers (Guenther, Ward, Ocean Isham [SOPH], Kyle Silvestain [JR]) and breaststrokers (Ellerman, Nick Wolfe [SR], Rowan Donovan [SR], Haverkamp) were nearly as good garnering 4 out of the top 5 efforts.

St. X will be represented by four athletes in each event at District meet.

Diving takes place Tuesday, February 15 at Miami's Corwin Nixon Aquatic Center.  Division I swimming will be conducted on Saturday, February 19 at Miami.
