Bomber Soccer Advances to District Final with 3-0 Victory

The St. Xavier High School soccer program continues to look solid in their first two playoff games after they advance to the District Final with a 3-0 victory over Turpin on Tuesday night.

Reece Heisel kicked off the scoring in the 17th minute off a throw in from Pierce Wahl. The Bombers only continued to get stronger as the game wore on.

Defender Sam Vota joined in the scoring for his first goal of the year of a missile shot from 25-yards out in the 33rd minute and it was Teddy Mueller scoring a remarkable Olimpico goal in the 56th minute, bringing the scoring to it's conclusion at 3-0. The Bomber offense was dominant all night long, out shooting Turpin 11-3 on the evening.

Senior goalie Luke Eckert turned in another lockdown performance, pitching a shutout to go with his three saves.

The Bombers turn their focus now to a District Final match with Springboro, in a matchup of two of the state's top-15 teams. Springboro currently sits at 13th in the most recent poll as they come off a postseason victory over Troy. The game is set for Thursday, October 27th at 7:00 pm and will be hosted at Norwood High School's Shea Stadium. Tickets can be purchased at ohsaa.org/tickets.
