SENIOR NIGHT PROVES TO BE BIG SUCCESS FOR AQUABOMBERS

On Thursday, January 20, the AquaBombers honored their seniors and parents both on deck and in the pool.  An emotional evening was blended with some very fast efforts at Keating Natatorium.  St. X hosted Moeller, while St. Ursula dueled Ursuline.  Seniors from all four schools were recognized.

Then it was time to raced.  The home squad won nine of eleven events.  Sophomore Alex Ingram posted lifetime bests in the 200 IM and 100 Back to claim gold.  Other individual winners were Will Froass [SR] – 100 Fly, Chase Guenther [SR] – 50 Free, Oscar Haverkamp [SR] – 500 Free, and Henry Stimson [FR] – 100 Breast.

However, the relays were a high priority and the Long Blue Lane delivered, going 1 – 2 – 3 in both the 200 Medley and 400 Free Relay.  Stimson, Nick Wolfe [SR], Kyle Silvestain [JR], and Christopher Perera [SR] touched first in the medley.  The short free featured Froass, Stimson, Haverkamp and Thackston McMullan [SOPH}.  Earning the final win were Guenther, Wolfe, Perera, and Levi Shooner [SR].
Moeller's Drew Held claimed first in the 200 and 100 Frees.  The Men in Blue went 1 – 2 in all other events and 1 – 4 in the 500.  The final tally reflected a 191 – 91 triumph for the AquaBombers.

COACHES' COMMENTS

"I remember my Senior Night well.  Sharing it with these guys meant a great deal to all the coaches," noted head coach Dave Albert.

"I have been fortunate to work with these athletes for the past four years.  Congratulations to them and their parents," reflected coach Tim Beerman.

'Senior Night is a rich tradition, both from a personal and athletic perspective.  Being a part of it never gets old," commented assistant head coach Jim Brower.

"Hosting Moeller, St. Ursula, and Ursuline adds to this very significant evening.  Outstanding performances at Keating certainly added to the festivities," summarized assistant head coach Tom Keefe.
